For me, the reality is that in using my newsreader and getting the feed
on my only viable choice of ISP (Qwest), eventually my current access
will be limited or gone...and this will be due to Qwest dropping the
service.
Might be a year, might be longer, might be shorter.
In case it wasn't mentioned, a nearly "all off-topic, all the time"
forum is The Soundhole.

"The Cafe" area is where most of the action happens on that forum.
Moderated in about the sameway as RMMGA (group dynamics!), I have never
known anyone to be removed or censored there. Might have
happened...but I think the Soundhole forum came about through a group
of people being ex-communicated from the old Talk, Talk, Talk forum.
It's mostly cultural and political talk on the Soundhole, but there is
as much guitar-knowledge on the group as anywhere else on the internet.
I think, quite frankly, that The Soundhole is the "place" out there
where all of the inner/outer and non-existent-circle folks on RMMGA
would enjoy participation.
The forum has their unique customs, but by and large they are so
similar to RMMGA as to be nearly transparent. Friendly name-calling &
personal abuse, well-known right and left leaning characters, and
again, very limited guitar & music discussion, but it's *available*
when the subject arises.
"Welcome to the SoundHole Café. Grab a cup of coffee, a cold beer, or
glass of wine, and settle in for conversation on various topics."
Sound familiar?
Of course. It's one of my old LP titles or close enough to it.
