I have been fighting this virus for two weeks. I think I finally got it whipped. I'm a programmer (albeit UNIX), so I took my normal way of figuring this thing out rather than run a software tool. I finally noticed a couple of weird folders in the "program files" folder. They matched a couple of processes I could not identify in the process window. I renamed all the executables and DLLs, then ran Registry Mechanic. Bam! they popped up in the program startup section. I then used the registry editor and found the startup registry entry and found another virus folder in /windows/system32 folder. I renamed those file and removed the registry entry. I then examined all of the entries in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE registry and found a couple of links that would download the virus again. After I removed all of those I rebooted and it seems to be gone for now.

Now I can get back to playing guitar. The next time I'll get a software tool. As soon as I get my Suse Linux running again, I may never use windows again.

I'm sure all the spybot, virus protection software companies are thanking Bill Gates for loosing such a menace (Windows) on the world.
