My kids have an overabundance of iTunes on their pc; I mean a massive
amount. Would this slow everything down seeing the hard drive is
getting close to full? It certainly slows down any security software
because of the sheer number of files. They've never backed anything
up, the iPod manual says to use DVD IIRC. I bought an external hard
drive to move all the iTunes to, but can't figure out how to do it?
Anybody got any suggestions?

Operating systems and applications need a certain amount of free space
on the hard disk to function efficiently. When they can't find it
they try to use what's available in RAM. The end result is very slow
operation.
If the external hard disk shows in the file system, you should be able
to drag and drop the iTunes files.
Enter the iTunes folder, do a <CTRL><A> to select all the files, the
click on the files and HOLD DOWN the left mouse button. Press and
HOLD DOWN the <SHIFT> key and drag the files, with the mouse, to the
nnew folder on the external hard disk.
They'll be moved to the external disk and erased from the main drive.
That's for a PC, I'm not sure if it would work on a Mac.
Have fun! :-)

Are you sure it will erase the files from the main hard drive? I thought
that click and drag manuever would just copy the files to the new
location.
