I'll start a post to ask for tunes people would like to do. It would need to be a PD tune so no copyrights are infringed on. How does it work? Does Lenny choose a tune? Is it a group decision? C'mon group... let's do it.

I don't think the MySpace thing is a good vehicle for a single-song
thing. It's really better suited as a way to consolidate a lot of
disparate MySpace accounts so they are linked together and we can see
some info about the various people.
For a single-song project, I think we'll need a different approach,
where all the songs just appear on the one site. I tried at first to
set up an rmmga account at MySpace, but they really want only one
person per account, and they explicitly say not to share the login and
passord to a single account.
I'll look into soundclick - maybe they'll have a way.
Or, since I do websites for a living, maybe I'll just create one for
us and we can do single-song projects or whatever we want. And if I
put a password on it that only members of rmmga have access to, I
don't think there would be a problem with copyrights, either, would
there?
Question: What does Big Music do best?

IMHO, a web page containing public domain material is very K.I.S.S. and thus very workable.
I was leaning towards soundclick until I read the License Grant
" You hereby grant to us, and by the act of delivering Standard Program Material to us grant to us, a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to: (a) reproduce, distribute, publicly perform, publicly display and digitally perform the Standard Program Material in whole or in part (including the right to create compilations which include your songs); (b) create and use samples of the Standard Program Material solely for the purpose of demonstrating or promoting our or your products or services; (c) use any trademarks, service marks or trade names incorporated in the Standard Program Material in connection with your material; and (d) use the name and likeness of any individuals represented in the Standard Program Material only in connection with your material."
I'm not sure those conditions would sit well with a professional artist considering making a submission to the project.
Looking ahead......if at some point in time there was a strong interest in doing copyrighted material, showing the website, and explaining intent and purpose to the rights holder, might make it easier to obtain permission to use the material, royalty free.
