It is a guitar I have listed so this isn't totally off topic, BTW.
What is it about ebay? I'm signed up so I know *total* illiteracy isn't a
requirement. I clearly state in the listing I'll accept paypal only, and
there is a min. bid and a "Buy it Now" price and a fixed price for shipping.
I have had 3 requests to pay by other methods, 2 requests to accept lower
than the "Buy it Now" price if they hit "Buy it Now", and 1 person asking if
the "Buy it Now" price includes shipping. In each case I've (I think)
politely gone back and restated what I thought was clear in the listing. If
I were going to be over dramatic, I'd say it makes me fear for the human
race. At a minimum, it makes me shake my head.
Rant off... and no, I would not like some cheese to go with that whine.
On the "up side", there are a bunch of people "watching" the auction and my
Buy it Now price is lower than the starting price for another of the same
thing so I am pretty confident it will sell.

I posted some baseball cards for sale on ebay a few weeks ago. I
clearly wrote in the description that I only take payments by check or
money order. Some joker outbid three other bidders on one of the cards
and after the auction ends, he emails me and said he does not pay by
check and asked if I would open a paypal account so he can pay that
way. I asked him why he bid on a auction that only take checks or
money orders if he can not pay that way and he only responded with "I
am on a limited income".
He wound up with a non paying bidder strike and a negative feedback
and I made sure to put is ID in my list of ebayers that are not
allowed to bid on my items.
Another winning bidder last year emailed me and said that his wife bid
on the item without checking to se if I took paypal and said he does
not pay for items by check. The total price of the item plus shipping
was under $10. I emailed him back and said that I can't understand why
people get so worked up over how to pay for inexpensive items. I said
that anytime I win an ebay item and if it is $30 or under, I just send
cash. I have done it plenty of times and have never been cheated. He
sent me the cash, he got his item and we both got positive feedback.
