I didn't quite know what my guitar would look like until Lance finished
it. So its fine figure was not the initial attraction. My first McCollum
exposure was to Maggie McKaig's GA and while it was obviously good
looking (nowhere near as pretty as Maggie, though), it was the sound
that blew me away and set the stage for a McCollum in my life.
Plenty of pretty guitars do not interest me at all, because I don't
appreciate their sound.
