Hello,
On my acoustic, when perfectly tuned, I loose the tuning when putting
a capo. I have to adjust the low E string (lower it a bit) for the
tuning to be ok again, and do the opposite when I remove the capo.
What's wrong with my guitar/neck? What can I do?
Thank you,
Sebastien
There's nothing wrong with your guitar neck. It often happens that putting a
capo on pulls it out of tune, especially the low strings, and the problem
may be worse with lighter strings. I can usually fix it by finding a capo
that doesn't apply too much tension - eg a loosely adjusted Shubb - and
tweaking it (along and across the strings) once you have it on. I also
stretch the offending strings to bring the pitch down.
