Hello,
On my acoustic, when perfectly tuned, I loose the tuning when putting
a capo. I have to adjust the low E string (lower it a bit) for the
tuning to be ok again, and do the opposite when I remove the capo.
What's wrong with my guitar/neck? What can I do?
Are you putting the capo just behind the fret, or halfway between the
frets? I find that placing the capo close behind the fret causes less
pitch shift.

good point. I usually put it in the middle. I try your suggestion and
see if it helps.

thx

Seb, one other important point is that the Schubb, Pearse, Paige, NS, etc, capos allow for the pressure to be adjusted to just enough to do the job. That and placing the capo close to the fret, minimize the impact on tuning. Kysers and other spring capos exert maximum pressure always, and thus pull the strings out of tune more.
