I reckon I only get to play about 3 hours a week (and it probablyI don't believe in practicing. I feel that the music should be spontaneous
shows in my playing, hem hem...)
How much time are you guys putting in?
I'm at a point where if I've got a gig or something I can play myself
in in a fairly short time, but it's a long time since I actually sat
down and tried to develop my skills (such as I have).
How much woodshedding is actually going on amongst you lot?
Pete
and natural. The first performance should also be the first time yall look
at the music or see the words in print. It's okay to have heard the song by
others first but only play a song once and first time in front of as many
people as possible. Do not worry about the key between instrument and
voice.... do not bother with tempo... play, enjoy and rejoice in the grand
cacophony of sound.
Yeah, the alternative is to play music.
Pete (being pissed off tonight because my car has been torn to pieces
this evening by some twat trying to hotwire it...)
That's sorry, Pete. I know it's a big job to get all that repaired. I
hope they get it done quickly.

Actually, it turned out to be no big deal apart tfrom the damage to
the fascia under the steering wheel. The guy next door is an RAC
emrgency call out guy and he fixed it in about half an hour. Total
cost - a bottle of Bacardi & some flowers for his wife.
I'm waiting for the third trouble - someone sneaked into the house a
couple of weeks ago and stole Caroline's handbag (I was in the shed
smoking and didn't notice the guy creeping in through the back door),
which had the keys to the other car (a much nicer vehicle than my old
banger) so we had to park the banger over the end of the drive to stop
anyone stealing Caroline's car all over Easter.
Fortunately the insurance did cough for that - it cost £1300 to
replace the locks, the ignition and reprogramme the computer (whatever
that does).
So that's two out of three troubles.
Pete
