Upon further investigation, it appears that not all programs will allow you to drag the edges.

Fortunately, it looks like it isn't possible for the grey title bar to go above the main menu, so you have at least the top edge to grab.

If the green Maximize button isn't visible in the upper-lefthand corner of the window, you can grab the title bar and drag it to the right until the Maximize button appears. Unlike on the PC, a maximized window can be resized.
