For you who are versed in the way of computerdom:
Since Saturday, the only way I can get to newsgroups is to disable Norton
Internet security 2005, not the firewall but the whole thing. This started
on its own. No changes, no new programs, no one else using the computer. Ran
all the usual fixes and did a system restore.
Any ideas?
TIA

I'll throw in my 2 cents here. When I first bought this PC I installed
Norton Internet Security 2005. It decided that Windows was a virus
(can't be, a virus does something...). I finally blew Norton off and
installed AVG Free, never had a problem with it. Stays out of the way,
keeps the system clean.
