A few weeks ago I got a very nice Gibson J-100 in trade. Once I get to
know it a little bit better I'll post about the merits and glories of
this particular guitar, but right now I want to mention that I have
some tuning gears that some of you might be interested in getting.
The guitar was built in 1989, first year of production for that model
at the Gibson Montana plant in Bozeman.
I just pulled off the original Schaller-made Gibson Deluxe tuners and
replaced them with Gotohs.
These original gears work fine, I'm just a fan of Gotoh gears in
general.
I thought I would offer these original gears to anyone who might have a
need for them. They're same as what Gibson used for years and, so far
as I know, continues to use on many their models.
The ones I have are identical to the one in this picture, except that
instead of the Schaller "S" stamped on the lefthand side, they say
"Gibson."

The same gears retail for $75 new; I thought I would offer these used
ones for $20 and postage.
Or maybe you have something you'd like to swap. I'm certainly open to
ideas.
As I said, these are used gears, but they work fine, and could be used
either as a full set of gears or as single replacement gears.
