Every time I see one of those metronomes with the pendulum and weight
like that I am reminded of the one we had when I was a kid taking
piano lessons. It was a unique piece of equipment in that the weight
would gradually slide down the shaft as it ran, making it go faster
and faster. If you were trying to do finger exercises to the 'nome you
pretty quick found yourself setting new speed records on the keyboard.
On the guitar I avoid a metronome because it depresses me to see how
slow I really am at changing chords...
