This really sucks.

I am not happy. I have lost interest in everything.

I have Lyme arthritis in my left hand, and I know what
you're talking about. I have been taking lots of anti-inflammatory supplements, including curcumin, bromelain, Wobenzym N, and others. It takes months to feel an improvement, it's not an immediate relief.

Hey guy, try not to let it get to you too badly. Notice I didn't say "not let it get to you". Speaking from first hand knowledge (pun intended) I don't think there is any way to "not" let it affect you adversely. All you can do is try to play thru it to the best of your abilities and look for shortcuts in technique. Mind you, I'm sure I've never been the caliber of player you are IMO, but I've had my own cross to bear. My left hand is slow and painful, so I try to compensate with my right hand work. Some days are better than others. I believe it's normal to be disinterested sometimes, simply because it can be so damned frustrating. Find friends who can be patient who will play with you, push you a bit, but be able to back off when you start getting real frustrated.
Physical therapy is a major biggie and playing can be just that. There are other kinds though.
Talk it out with someone you trust and will let you vent a bit but not let you indulge in wallowing in self-pity. It's easy to concentrate on what you can no longer do and wail about it. It's more important to concentrate on what you "can" do and be thankful. Yeah, it sounds Pollyanna-ish, but it's important. Depression sets in quickly and easily and it's a slippery slope that can suck you in in a heartbeat. Stay active and be inter-active with friends and folks in general. Keep paddling. cause if you don't it's too easy to go under. Been there, done that, had the meds.
Most important is to remember that you have more friends than you think you do. For me, the lesson I'm learning is that I'm not doing as well and as rapidly as I hoped I would, but I'm not as bad off as I had dreaded I would be. Does that make sense?
Take care Johnny and remember that we're rooting for you and some of us are here. Heck, write me off group and I'll be happy to give you my addie and phone number. I'm always willing to listen and let friends vent if need be.

Mike
