My Gibson J45
I bought my J45 in 1967 for $250. I think it was 2 or 3 years old.
I did lots of gigs around the country and overseas a little with it.
For the last 10 years I have not used it much because I needed
something with a pickup in it. I got a Takamine (the Martin copy with
the built in pickup). I recently put an LRBaggs M1 Active pickup on the
Takemine, but am not satisfied with the warmth of the sound anymore.
The Gibson sounds so much better I am considering having the LRBaggs
put on the Gibson. I just hate drilling a hole in my old wonderful
friend.
Any opinions on what this will do to either hurt the value or
sound of the J45, or any suggestions for another direction so I can use
it again.
I appreciate any words of wisdom!
