We used to drive the computer hardware technicians crazy back in the
good old days of capacitors and resistors and big old IC chips on
printed circuit boards by simply walking up near them, bending that
little metal pocket-clip thing on a ballpoint pen back with a
thumbnail and then letting it SNAP against the pen. The techs would
always think some little electronic component had fried and they'd go
crazy looking for it with their little tester probes and
