I know what you mean. Many of my relatives had their dentists
in Nuevo Laredo.
Quite a while back when their high quality, low cost of
dentistry was just becoming known, there was a story where a family
had come back across the river at Laredo and the Border guy asked the
usual fruit, alcohol, type questions and the father was saying the
general "noes" and the patrolman said, "OK, nothing to declare then,"
and he was starting to flag them through when a little kid in the back
seat announced, "We didn't get anything but Grandpa's new teeth."
The patrolman smiled and said, "Well, now...that does make a
difference, doesn't it? Pull right over here, please, Sir." <g>
