Bob--I like Harold's suggestion, here. My recording machine is
dedicated to that function, so it really isn't as much of a concern
for me. And I've gotten used to it, to the point of preferring to
work that way. The stand-alone recording units that I've seen up
until now have a lot more downside than upside, IMHO.

I especially like the idea of a 200G drive with USB connectability for
under $100. With the horror stories I've been hearing about the
absence of longetivity of CDR backups, I'm beginning to think about a
different backup strategy.
