Agreed. I'm often surprised when I do get a response from a
publication. One of the San Diego newspaper's sports writers always
responds to email, one of the music reviewers never responds. I don't
mind - I think of the thousands who read the paper everyday & have
comments. (well hundreds, this is San Diego)
Magazines aren't a business in the ordinary sense, and even store-front
businesses don't often want unsolicited advice. I don't think it's
reasonable to dump on a publication that doesn't answer you. Sure,
getting a response is good, but I'm not going to stop reading a column
in the newspaper I really enjoy because I didn't get an answer. I don't
think you knock a magazine for the same reason.
Also, from what I remember of AG, don't they also have CDs with the
audio for extra money? While what you request is reasonable, think of
how much more your subscription would cost if they did this.
