<putw@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> brewed up the following, and served it to
the group:

We (PUTW) are using a much different active polymer material then we were
3
years ago, and have made great improvements in the ease of mounting, the
output levels, the output impedance, and the over-all fidelity. The basic
material uses polarized long chain polymers that are completely flexible
in
nature and produce voltage and capacitive changes when stimulated.
Earlier
versions of peizo films used ground up ceramic or quartz piezo dust laid
down into a polymer material, but our current materials are completely
different because the polymer itself is the only active component. Our
electrodes and ground wraps are now derived from a 7 micron medical grade
metalized Kevlar material with a highly conductive adhesive.

beer...oh, yes, there's beer...]
I'm happily celebrating my 45th birthday today and enjoying some ice-cold
Negra Modelos with Annie & the kids (o.k. the kids are having orange juice).
It's hell being an early adopter, out there on the bleeding edge
(right, Charles?)
Yea, I hope Charles's absence from here isn't due to some sort of impedance
thing.
I've got a pre-Kevlar #27 in my 12-string, and a kevlar #27 in my
6-string. (I think that's how it's set up...)
I love 'em both...
I think you are a happy camper!
<snip>
We're also at the point where our dual element model #54 has become the
only
recommended SBT model for acoustic guitars because there is only one
placement that works for 80% of all guitars, and a second placement that
rotates the bass element and works excellently for the other 20%. This is
a
far cry from the earlier model #27's that put a few people into having
placement fits, and were much more prone to breaking after to many
frustrated attempts.
...of course, now I'm going to have to upgrade 'em both.
But you did install them correctly, and that counts for a LOT!
Damn you, David Enke!!
Thank you, and me too!
Seriously, though, I can't say enough good things about David and his
products. Here is somebody who will bend over backwards (and do
flips) to make sure his customers are happy with the sound of their
instruments.
And I suffer from a severe case of codependence and can't keep from walking
in another person's shoes (especially if they're left by the front door).
And he makes KILLER guitars and basses...
And now all I need is to learn to play them as well as you.
David, you and Annie will be sorely missed next week in Wimberley.
Breaking of legs is in order...all the best, my friend.

A side-trip to Colorado on the way back from TX?
And Bill, thank you for this:
"We learned that the same spirit lives in all of us. We are the same.
There is no difference anywhere in the world. People are people. They
laugh, cry, feel, and love, and music seems to be the common denominator
that brings us all together. Music cuts through all boundaries and goes
right to the soul."
