I have a wood body Dobro that I bought specifically for playing
"reg'lar guitar style" as you put it. I bought it from Cliff
Eberhardt, and I mention this because that is the style he uses to play
reso as well - if you are interested in hearing someone do that you
could pick up one of his CD's. You can tune it however you want and
play with or without slide - same as any other guitar - but it has a
great different tone so adds interest to your set - it looks cool, too.
