I to have had some appalling experience with medical doctors up here in the
Canadian socialist workers' paradise, but that is no valid excuse for
kicking off at someone whose competence and even area of expertise are
unknown to you. Your attitude reminds me of the aged father of an old
friend who contended that black folks live in flat-roofed houses. Both
attitudes have about the same basis in reality. Grow up.

A recent post objecting to the use of a professional/academic title
got me to thinking how much things have changed on Usenet Newsgroups.
I first dtarted posting and reading to the Usenet in the 1980s, long
(in computer terms) before the arrival of the World Wide Web. Today
most of us either do not remember or even know that there was an
Internet before the inception of the Web.
In those early days one could rarely find a poster who did not have
(and use) a professional or academic title of some sort. It was very
common for a poster to include his or her real name, title,
institution, and full contact information with the post. Nearly
everyone either had an advanced degree or was working on one.
Perhaps Newsgroups are passe, given the proliferation of a variety of
web based forums and such. Ultimately, the value of a Newsgroup such
as this one rests solely on the quality of the posts. This is just
about the last group I still chack regularly, as the others I
participtated in are either inactive or over-active with OT posts. I
appreciate the continuing helpful and respectful communication that we
have here.
My two cents.
Best wishes,

If you're refering to my post then good. I've seen good doctors but
the majority are nothing but quacks. IMO being a doctor is no longer
an honorable profession. Most dont have the common sense it takes to
be messing with peoples health and lives. Being good at book learning
and having common sense dont go hand in hand and are seldom found one
with the other. The biggest part of making a good doctor is common
sense. Surgeons may be an exception but the shitbirds you see working
in a general practice are little more than legalized drug pushers.
The people who take their advice and their un needed addictive drugs
are just as strung out and just as unhealthy as the addict on the
corner. Unhealthy both physically and mentally. For those who cant see
this then you just havent been alive long enough. Give it time. You
will.
