No need to revarnish unless there's another break in the
same coil - then I strip both coils right off and start
again because I have s.t. wrong with the winder setup.
I have to strip off both as I wind both at the same time
(I make sidewinders). Afterward, the entire pickup is
potted in wax then plastic resin anyhow.

I didn't know the generic term for blu-tac - "poster
adhesive" sounds too generic :-).
