I use end mills. They are designed to cut metal and last a long time when
used on wood. They offer incredible control and make a cleaner cut. They
can be expensive but like I said, they last a long time when used on
wood.I use 4 flute center cut and the length of the cutting surface
varies as does the overall length of the bit.A 3 inch bit with 3/4 inch
of cutting area covers all my needs with a plunge router. If you've never
tried using an end mill and you have control problems with your router
this is your remedy.
