This is the first time in my conscious memory that I am listening to
MKT. His voice is not all that pleasant to my ears, especially when
changing registers. Lata's ease of register change is phenomenal -
well into the 60s at least. MKT's phirat cannot possibly match
Latabai's. His breath control is quite poor in the clip you shared,
however, it is quite unfair to compare anyone's breath control to
Lata's.


Before I decide whether I agree or disagree with that last statement
suggesting Lata's breath control is supreme, define breath
control....specifically in the context of Hindi film playback
singing.
