This is the first time in my conscious memory that I am listening to
MKT. His voice is not all that pleasant to my ears, especially when
changing registers. Lata's ease of register change is phenomenal -
well into the 60s at least. MKT's phirat cannot possibly match
Latabai's. His breath control is quite poor in the clip you shared,
however, it is quite unfair to compare anyone's breath control to
Lata's.

I agree about Lata's breath control. In quite a few of the duets that
I have, of Lata and Rafi/Kishore/Mukesh etc., I find there is a
notable difference when it comes to breath control.

IMO, Asha is not too shabby either.
