Further to my above post , something more crossed across my poser.

The closest LATA rendition of that raag: Kafi ( I guess .. as advised
to me on phone by Mr. Chari of Chennai ) is the NAINA solo posted but
the rendition of that solo APPEARS BRILLIANT (without the very
presence of her competitor-rendition). Otherwise, Lata's renditionis
so-so and the tune of Manna Dey is very diluted. ( Such raags, if they
were to be tuned by a MD of GR's class, he would have made it very
tough and intricate , but surely a possibility plus.
For example, how many of the rmimers have heard the SITAMGAR ('58)
solo of Asha: Taakat raah kamala nainan.....
What a splendid performance by Asha under GR's music in Hindi. Asha is
truly very gr8 and I felt her Hindi rendition as good and perfect as
that of the original by P.Leela.

Nani, in his responses has never ever made such type of conclusions in
his study.
