Here are some quick benefits and disadvantages if RMIM moves from
Usenet to Google groups.

Pros:
* Spam se mukti
* Possible to receive individual messages through email as posted
* Possible to post using email
* Can use other features like creating permanent pages (lists),
posting attachments, etc.
* Full archive search (considering the Usenet search has recently
become restrictive and difficult)

Cons:
* Google's platform (not open)
* Cannot be accessed using Newsreaders

I will add as I think of more. You are free to add too.

There is already a RMIM group on facebook. Why not just use that?

Some reasons:

1. Facebook groups are not suitable for lengthy discussions (e.g. no
threading).
2. No search (as of yet)
3. It will be a bigger migration path for RMIMers, compared to Google
Groups (which most of them are already familiar with and have an
account at)
4. Limited email access for reading/posting

Pro -
1. It exists
2. No moderator needed
3. Every one can decide who they want to be friends with, i.e. select whose
thoughts they care to read

Con -
1. A person can say any thing on their wall. May not be only music related.

.The main ( and only) problem with present setup is Unwanted/
unrelated posts.all We need is some group where Moderator(s) can
delete a posting.No individual Mails because before moderator can
delete the posting reaches member.Ideally all postings should have
moderator's permission but that will his task very heavy, so not
practical.
Will a yahoo group be better ?
