Surely, this is the crux of the matter. You are asserting your point
without any 'objective' proof. Only a subjective view (albeit based
upon your multiple listenings, on a pristine 78rpm record and using
japanese cartridge). Your assertion is no more or less valid than the
opposing views in that they both fall short on lack of any
objectivity. So it is your ears vs the ears of the masses.

I have always maintined that a scientific, mathematical, proof is
impossible in this situation. It is akin to asking Naseer Sahib to
prove to you mathematically that a mango does indeed taste sweet to
him! The whole exercise is, to quote Black Adder, 'like fitting wheels
to a tomato: time consuming and utterly useless':-) So I think enough
already and let the position with maximum votes be declared the
correct position (on election day):-)

But in a public session I will play this song in question.
Many connoisseurs will be there of various degrees of raswaadan. This
is the right method.

OPEN to all and give it to the audience ..a surprise w/o any previous
intimation. and seek quick response..then-n-there. The first opinion
is the best one.

I spoke to a very good friend of mine at Lahore yday about this song
in question.
He disagrees with Afzal Khan's version of incorrect pronounciation
of the words the latter has pointed out.

Now what?

RMIMers are NO AUTHORITY ( I am also included in this) to claim their
judgement as final. If you remember, my post was directed only to
Profjee and not others.
Others opinion if at at all they want to partake should come to Mumbai
and be a part of the audience and voice your opinion.
