Dear all,
This may not be relevant to the current discussion on pronoun shifts
but, in classical Arabic (for example the Qur'aan), this kind of shift
is very common and it is termed "iltifaat". It's purpose is for
rhetoric. An article on this subject can be found on the internet

Two examples of pronoun shift...
1) '*We* have given you abundance, therefore pray to *your* Lord'
108:2
(The speaker, "We" is God).
*Who* created the heavens and the earth and sent down for you water
from the sky wherewith *We* caused to grow joyous gardens?'
27:61
Arabic has tense shift as well to serve the same purpose.
