We cannot complain about the format as the format was pre-decided. What
I suggested was that with so many prizes being given one after the
other by great luminaries to the undeserving winner, perhaps some
prizes could have been given to the deserving no.2. Has happened in the
past, with MD judges announcing a singing opportunity under their baton
for more-deserving candidates who have been voted out. The winner of
Super Singer Ravindra Upadhyay (an infinitely better singer than Indian
Idol II) got a non-descript break in Iqbal, whereas the loser Naresh
Iyer got his break with some great nos like roo-ba-roo in RDB under the
baton of ARR who happened to be one of the judges.

The reason why I felt it was fixed was because in the last few rounds
all the special invitees came and said things like this to the Indian
Idol II runner up

Whether you win or not - for us you are the real Indian Idol
Dont worry if you do not win - if you keep your head firmly on your
shoulders you will go a long long way
Dont feel dejected if you dont win. this is not the end - this is the
beginning
I think people from the South should start voting (sunil shetty on the
runner up)

Also in the final episode, the runner up also seemed pretty off key -
almost as if he was resigned to his fate (didnt feel like entertaining
an audience largely comprising of 'raqeeb's :)) And yet the legend on
the top right corner said LIVE.

And they say Caesar was not ambitious. And they are all honourable men!

Also if you actually got 2 crores votes and each vote cost 3 rs, that
means as a nation we spent 6 crores just in one episode to find out who
will get 1 crore. classic case of khaaya piyaa kuchh nahiin glass toDaa
baarah aana!
