If you are a connoisseur of Indian classical music, please mark your
calendar to attend this rare event in San Diego next Thursday
evening. It features two concerts:
1) A Sitar concert by Shahid Parvez, one of the finest players of the
instrument today.
2) A vocal concert by San Diego's own Sudakshina Alagia, one of the
finest singers in the Patiala Gharana style of music popularized by
her guru and renowned vocalist Lakshmi Shankar.
They will be accompanied by San Diego's well known Tabla maestro, Arup
Chattopadhyay. All three of these artistes have given several
performances in the U.S., Canada, India and other countries.
Sudakshina and Arup are also well-known teachers of their respective
art forms in San Diego.
