Interesting idea... I thought about Google calendar. but the problem
is it's not as easily accessible as a wiki.
I had planned that a post concert review/picst could also be put up.
This is not possible in google calendar , I presume.
Plus to modify google calendar , one has to subscribe to this
service[ google account], which may not be feasible for everyone.
Whereas , anonymous data entry could be allowed....

Yes, to contribute, people have to get a google account. Not only
that, but if you have a centralised calendar, you (or someone else
with similar permission) will have to invite anyone who wants to
contribute - or who you would like to contribute. I'm going through
this process now, of trying to convince people in my network to add
their events themselves so that I don't have to do all that work.
Part of that is convincing them that MY calendar is worthy of their
attention... So I often suggest that they start their own calendar
and let me know the address so I can just copy their new events over
(or they can too, if I give them permission).

Anyway the interface that you've done is really good...
Btw, If there are many programmes on the same day, will it still be
easy to read.?

There are a number of views - monthly view will only display the first
X number (which can be set), but the more useful display is Agenda
view which will display every event.

Here in my wiki model, I'd planned to keep Location wise pages. which
are then subdivided into dates.
You're probably suggesting that I make individual calendars, say one
for Varanasi, one for Bangalore etc [ is it?]

In my calendars, I put the location first in the title. You would at
least want to separate countries, I think - ie a USA calendar, an
India calendar.
I have a Japan calendar, which has events from all over the country.
As there is usually only 0-3 ICM events somewhere in Japan on most
days, this works well. If you started having 5-10 events on each day
you'd probably want to create regional calendars to make it
manageable.

But These will have to be given a common interface, where the
locations can be selected. Ok. a selector google gadget will do
[ comments pls ]....
Also, are these calendars, date wise and data -wise searchable....As
in , is each field searchable... I mean it's google.. but I've my
doubts... Pls clarify...

Date-wise searchability would be achieved just by viewing the date
range of interest.
You can search "My calendars" for any term - so that requires you to
join Google.
I'm not sure how linked-in the calendars are to Google's general
search index right now. Google Calendar is still part of Google Labs,
ie it's in the beta phase. So I would expect that as time goes on it
will get more linked to general searches. That is one reason I chose
it. (BTW I also have Yahoogroups to which I send a weekly index of my
events. That means I get the info to people who read email more than
surf the web, and also gives me a foot in Yahoo's doorway.)

(BTW If it's of interest, there is a Hindu festival Google Calendar at
