As a team? Did you ever see them live? There's a great moment I want to put on YouTube from the '88 DMCs where they essentially hijacked the place and performed (then unheard) tracks from "Nation of Millions . . .. " Flavor was a big part of that. Excellent hypeman as Bozak stated.

And he gave me an autograph when I was like 12 or 13. He was staying at a hotel my mom worked at and she gave me a heads up that he was going to be staying there. He was rushed getting right off the bus and was totally friendly and cool. He even signed it, "Be cool in school G" and put the PE emblem on it. I could never hate the guy for that alone. He actually took the time to personalize it rather than just scribble on something and say later. Compare that to modern day douchebags who have one single out and zero talent who couldn't be bothered by fans.

"I Can't Do Nothin' For Ya Man" is a GREAT party track. Cutting doubles of it is very fun. "911 is a Joke" was another great song in my opinion, whether it was played to death or not. His adlib is great. In my opinion he's one of the reasons PE endured into the early 90s when others with the same message were pushed aside. He put a smile on militancy.

Seeing him as like a minstrel act? I dunno, I never had that perception. Hammer on the other hand . . .
