That's a decent idea. It could be kinda like a mix show/rants or
comments on recent hip hop news or something.
Have you ever heard the "Lost: Transmission"? I think you could
have people send one person comments and they could patch a bunch
of them together.
I mean the podcasts can be like only 10-15 mins too.
Peace!

We're probably all too fagged and assed-out to do anything, though.
But it would be dope. Or could be.
I'm allways "about" to do some shortish podcast mixes. I never do
though, but if there was an RMHH radio I might. Might.
Well, I'm worried about the traffic it could generate. Not that we'd
have a huge amount of listens, but it will be bulky. Where else could
we store it?
what about something like shoutcast? do they host files for you?
The fucks.
BROADCASTING
Persons wanting to broadcast will need to run their own server, as per
the instructions below, or find someone willing to run one for them. Once
a server's located, broadcasters use Winamp and a plug-in called the
SHOUTcast Source for Winamp Plug-In to send audio from Winamp to the
SHOUTcast server. The tools are available here, and there's an entire
section of the documentation dedicated to the plug-in.
RUNNING A SERVER
The magic of the SHOUTcast system happens inside the SHOUTcast
Distributed Network Audio Server (DNAS). This software runs on a server
attached to an IP network with lots of bandwidth, and is responsible for
receiving audio from a broadcaster, updating the SHOUTcast directory with
information about what the broadcaster is sending, and sending the
broadcast out to listeners. More information is in the server section of
the documentation.
failing that, I could probably host something providing it was one or
two files that were changed every week/month etc
I seem to be paying for a dedicated IP addy right now, which I haven't
started using at all. I'm also about to get a nice new boxen (a month,
I'd say), and could dedicate this one to the podcast and even a full-
blown 24/7 station.
Do you have unlimited traffic or something? I used to like my hosting,
but they were bought, and now they really suck.
If I do get the radio station thing off of the line, I'll either try and
cadge a free copy of TuneTracker, or just buy one. I can imagine some
incredibly fucked-up adverts for altrap.com being broadcast on there.
