I agree. What I have is essentially the lowest of something that
could be called "high end." There is almost nothing for sale in
Goodwin's that costs less than what I bought. The difference in sound
between the speakers that I bought, and speakers that cost half as
much is dramatic to my ears. And I was using GD SBDs as some of my
store listening material. On the other hand, speakers that cost 10X
more than what I paid, usually I couldn't understand shy someone would
pay 10X more. But tell you the truth, most of what actual audiophiles
care about are things that don't matter to me at all. However, I
really can tell the difference between 5.1 and pure stereo.

At a certain point (and that point is actually pretty low down once
you step into "hi end" audio) the law of diminishing returns kicks in
with a vengeance. People will spend big bucks for what they will
concede are only very marginal gains in sound quality. Personally,
while I care about music a great deal I'm not willing to go crazy on
an audio system to that extent.

For me, it's a practical matter, mostly. I don't want to give space
to 5 speakers in my living room. Even if DTS was clearly superior to
stereo in every way, I would probably still stick with two speakers.
Unless, of course, I could get Brad to handle the negotiations for me.

You're on your own here, buddy. I don't care all that much about
surround sound, I'm not going to make a convincing argument for you.
