I just got my new digital decoder box for digital TV
I wound up having to get a better attenna from Radio Shack
Now the picture comes in great.
No snow. I think it has a better picture than cable.
No compression.
Well that is beside the point, they are boasting oh such a great
picture and great sound.
I grant it, it is a better picture.
But I was listening to the sound and it was alright, nothing to brag
about. I had everything hooked up right.
I had the cable from the attenna go into the converter box to the TV.
It is pretty simple. This is where they got you. Or misinform you.
This also goes for all you cable and dish users.
If you are only running a cable line into your comnverter box directly
into your TV you are not listening to it in stereo.
You are also not listening to the best way that you can possiblely
can. You think you are, but you are not!
Like I said I had the cable from my attenna into my converter box and
from the converter box to the TV. That is hooked up right for the
nubie and the person that doesn't give a damn or is so clueless that
what he or she does not know will never hurt them of affect them.
When I cot the converter box I looked at it an it looked like a cable
converter box and a Dish converter box. It has a cable input and out
put and it also has 3 RCA jacks. this is meant to plug int a home
stereo. But in booie's case he ran the RCA wires (red, white & yellow)
into one of the VIDEO input jacks in the TV. The same thing can be
done with Cable TV boxes and also the dish converter boxes.
If you just hasve a cable line running into you TV you are not
listening to it stereo. This is something that the general public
would not know. But let me tell you it sounds like the devil.
DO IT AND TRY IT!
You will never listen to TV the same way.
I also have the earphone jack on the TV going directly into my home
stereo. The image of sound that comes out of it now is unbelievable.
Try the RCA challange, you will see.
You think you are listening to it in stereo, but you are not.
All you need is one 3 wired RCA cord (yellow, red & white)
Hook it in the back of your converter box.
Then hook the other end of the wire to one of your video inputs on
your TV. Then go to whatever video input you put the line in and
whaaaaa la it is done. To hear the test, use the video input
controller on your remote and go to what ever video you put the wire
in and you will hear the difference. If you keep pressing the video
button on the remote you will then hear the old way you were listening
to it. I do not think you will go back to thge old way.
Just a little knowledge that booie is passing on to you.
booie..................
I want my analog signal back.
We've had the converter boxes hooked up for 2 months now and frankly,
the reception blows. There appears to be no rhyme or reason as to why
some days the reception is good and other days horrible. We'll have a
massive rain storm and the box works like a charm. Other nites its
cold n clear and I cant get a majority of the channels in.
Because of where I live, I'm going to be forced to buy cable or
satellite or install an antenna on my roof (the huge antenna currently
in my attic isnt pulling in the digital signal too well). Or I can
pinch free cable from the junction box in my backyard. Or I can just
quit TV altogether.
