I'm sure *that's* a fair and balanced source. Look I totally expect
the wagons to circle for Obama here. Hey if you think he's good off
the telepromper and that he has a smart energy workable energy policy,
here's to ya. He'll probably be President with an overwhelming
Democratic majority so we'll get experience the reality.- Hide quoted

well, you just said you like to read opposing viewpoints, so I thought
I'd help you out. Poke around a little:

Hey now if that will do it sans any new drillin'..(making sure your
tires are filled up and you get more tune-ups) then Obama should
fight, man, fight for it! We can DO this "instead of all this oil
they're talkin' about drillin"?! So so so, why then is he NOW going on
about his support for 'new off shore drilling and opening up the
SPR'..as part of a larger compromise, of course. I'll tell you;
because he's still trying to figure out WTF he needs to say!

despite the fact that I like Obama and find him intelligent and
reasonable, I harbor no delusions about his motivation - he wouldn't
be in the field of politics if he wasn't a politician. I've been
impressed enough so far with what he has had to say that I'm willing
to concede some course changes along the way, although you continue to
put your own spin on his musings and consistently post them and allude
to them out of context, a trick that fools few.
*Out of context? By all means, post the whole thing. By today, his spin will
have changed because he's still reaching, trying to figure out how to by a
"man of the people", just like previously he tried to figure out how to "be
a brother" and fit in/win elections there. His official webiste reflects
this exercise in finetuning. Perhaps his campaign needs a tuneup! (a la old
school cars pre-'85) It's really kind of pathetic and I wouldn't be playing
pixelated hardball this candidate or his earnest supporters on any level if
his proposals and preconceived notions were not a threat to our pocketbooks
and our way of life.
keep shaking your head - I can hear the rattling all the way up
here...
*Hey if you disagree with me there's four basic choices..racist, liar,
insane, or stupid. High five your other 6-8 politico amigos who find
edification in group masturbation and share an inside joke. There's safety
in numbers.- Hide quoted text -

the reference to empty-headed rattling has nothing to do with
disagreement over politics, just the rather unique way you generally
approach things. He wasn't saying that his solution to the energy
problem is to have everyone tune up and inflate to proper pressure; he
was just making a point that all the off-shore drilling in the world
is not going to be a magical panacea so don't get too excited about
it.
I'm purely independent with my politics, other than an extreme
abhorrance for self-righteousness and severe distrust of those who
think they can tell others how they should live their lives from a
personal/lifestyle standpoint. Once again you never miss an
opportunity to play 'woe-is-me, they're all ganging up on me', even
though in my case I really don't think you'll find much evidence of me
'high-fiving' or engaging in other group/insider activities with other
rmgd'ers on political matters. I try to keep to myself, and just poke
the nest a bit every now and then.
Hey, mjd.... high five!!
