My county along with nine others here in south-central Indiana are
under a state of emergency. We got about 8 to 10 inches of rain
overnight. This after a week of thunderstorms and heavy rain so the
ground was already heavily saturated. There are some serious flooding
and flash-flooding issues going on. Damns and levees are breaching.
Oddly enough the power didn't go out during last night's craziness.
Wednesday night's storm knocked the power out for four hours and fried
my modum as well. Fortunately, we live on top of a ridge so all is
relatively well here, except we're out of milk and I won't be going to
town for at least another couple days.
Wow, Steve, that is heavy tripping stuff.
Post news, please.
I really am worried for the town closest to me. Spencer sits along the
White River and has always had issues with flooding now and again, but
this looks to be the big one. You ever hear of fifty year floods or
hundred year floods? Well, this stands to be our hundred year flood.
They're saying this might even end up being worse than the one from
1913.
