Can you cite the particular poll you're referring to Ken?

The New York Times/CBS News Poll of Feb 20-24, 2008.

Those particular numbers aren't prominently displayed but follow
along with me and I'll get you there. ;-)

Go here:

Now scroll down to the sidebar titled Related.

Click on Complete Poll Results (pdf)

Depending on how your computer deals with .pdf you should see the
complete results in .pdf format.

The relevant questions are #17 on page 11 and #19 on page 12;

17. Is your opinion of Barack Obama favorable, not favorable, undecided, or haven't you heard enough about Barack Obama yet to have an opinion? QUESTIONS 16-17 WERE ROTATED.

19. Is your opinion of John McCain favorable, not favorable, undecided, or haven’t you heard enough about John McCain yet to have an opinion?.
QUESTIONS 18-19 WERE ROTATED.

Obama's favorable was 45% among all registered and 69 among Dem
Probable Voters. McCain's was 36% and 57 among RPV.

I thought that's what you were referring to. You forgot the "within their respective parties" portion of your statement. I know, just a slip on your part. ;-)

FYI, McCain's approval has gone up approximately 20% within the Republican Party in the last month. Head-to-head Obama and McCain are separated from anywhere to 2-5%. This race is going to be a squeaker. McCain is going to be a formidable candidate.
