Aloha all!

The effects of the storm should be hitting sometime today. Went down
to McKenzie Park yesterday to check out the surf and it's pounding
pretty good. Gonna go down again today and see what's happening. Last
night we had a 5.3 shaker. A strong rolling tumbler...no damage. Kinda
reminded me of Oct last year...we had a pretty good earthquake (Kona
side) and the next day the most awesome thunder/rainstorm I've ever
experienced. Thunder and lightning...all night long. Best I can figure
we got 19" of rain in less than 24 hours.

Anyway, this storm is expected to miss the island but bring high winds
and about 15" of rain. BTW, I live just outside of Pahoa...which is
about 19 miles southwest of Hilo on the Big Island. As for dead
content, I am listening to the Grateful Dead home movie (Veneta '82?)
as it is buffering, that grunk (Steve in Maui) just posted to the
group. I heard mention of Dead show in Portland the night St Helens
burped and snowed volcanic ash on the Portland area. Yep, I was at
that show and had a wonderful time.
