I'm pretty clear in what I'm talking about and I'm certainly more
politically informed than the average American. The media aren't to
blame. The Democrats aren't to blame. This administration is to blame.
Ultimately is was their call. Seeking out boogeymen, especially those
with an 815,000 viewership seems counterproductive to me.

If you are insinuating that I'm the average American, then think again.
I'm not. This war and efforts to end it have consumed my life for a long
time now. I am almost never here anymore because I'm reading or going to
lectures, meetings, vigils, movie screenings, town hall meetings, or I'm
passing out flyers at events or in the streets holding signs. I've been
participating in street theater and even civil disobedience. I've been
to both my Senator's and my Congressman's office trying to do something
about it. Learning about and trying to end this war any in every way
possible has become my life until it's over and all our kids are home and
safe. I told my congressman, to his face, on July 3rd that if it's so
hard to write a bill that will pass because it's SO difficult to get
everyone to agree that he needs to go back to Washington and remind his
colleagues what their job is - to represent us, which means find out what
we think and vote accordingly and that too many of you get elected and
begin thinking of yourselves as our LEADERS rather than our
REPRESENTATIVES! I'm not some dummy sitting here pounding out words on a
keyboard all day long, JC, I, too, know what I'm talking about. I knew
more about the Iraq Hydrocarbons and Conyers/Kucinich healthcare bills
than my congressman did, I'm sad to say.

I think that the press does own part of the war. If they'd done their
job and questioned what the administration was feeding them, it may not
have begun in the first place. No, they didn't start it, but they did
not do their job, which could have prevented it. The Democrats are
culpable as well -they voted to start it and the keep voting to fund it.

Hey Kathy, have I told you lately that you fuckin rock, girl. Okay,
there I told you. Btw, one of the big bull*** lines you hear from dems
is that Public Law 107?243, Aka "Authorization for Use of Military Force
Against Iraq Resolution of 2002" Would've passed anyway because of the
republican majority in Congress. Not true.

The other thing of course is funding the war, which most dems do. That
witch from across the bay for example. The only Constitutional power
Congress has to end the war is to defund it. Congress does not have the
power to set a time line for withdrawal or in any other way tell the
commander in chief how to conduct a war. They can give him permission to
go to war, and they can refuse to fund it. There is only one case where
setting a time line for withdrawal would be allowed, and it does not apply
here.

Anyway Kathy, keep up the good fight;-)

Thanks, Walter. I think you're pretty great, too. And, believe me, I will
keep fighting. Our senator STILL hasn't met with us, but we have a surprise
for him on Thursday!! Update then...
