On my birthday it was "Sh-Boom" by the Crew Cuts.

Funny though....after about 1993, I can't place a single song they
have listed as "#1" on my birthday. Up until that point, it's a long
series of classics. Was 1993 the demarkation point where pop music
ceased to matter? (I was only 26 that year, so I don't think it's
because I'm too old).
hmmm - You may be on to something. Things start to get shakey for me
starting in 1986, but from '93-on I only recognize one song. And that's
"Candle In The Wind", which is really from the 70s.
