(NDC) Not a Bad Vista........

It took a full day to really get used to it (and uninstall all the AOL
and Norton crap that was loaded on it), but my new Dell laptop running
Vista Premium is pretty damn slick. So far, I like the Vista OS.
It's noticeably faster than XP--well, that might just be the computer,
but it certainly isn't the clunky behemoth some folks paint it to be.
The UAC has done some weird things to built-in folders like
MyPictures, but I just deleted those anyway.

To this point, I'd recommend a Vista computer to those buying a new
one. It was way easier to set up TCP/IP printer ports, wireless
networks, etc., than it was with XP.

Now as for my old HP laptop, getting that puppy up and running again
has been a total nightmare. The XP OS HP sent works fine, but the HP
laptop-specific drivers DVD refuses to load any files, which means the
wireless card drivers, video drivers, mousepad drivers, etc. haven't
been installed and the computer is virtually worthless as is. They're
sending me a replacement DVD, but I somehow doubt it's going to work
any better........
