What a bunch of bull***. NOBODY I know treats their drivers license as a

Dude, come out to LA and bring a bicycle. We'll ride Wilshire through
the westside at rush hour. You will understand, I guarantee. Ever
been hit by a side view mirror getting passed by a car at maximum
acceleration? It's quite an experience. Email me offline if you've got
the cajones.
See that's your first problem. You're riding a bike on a roadway that wasn't
designed for bike traffic, it was designed for automobile traffic. And it's
why I stopped riding my bicycle on the roads. I was putting myself in
danger. It doesn't take a rocker scientist to figure out that riding a
bicycle in traffic that is traveling twice as fast as you is asking for
trouble.
Take the bus, drive, carpool, buy a hybrid or ride on a bike path.
OTOH I see bicyclists who regularly ignore traffic laws,
ride in packs three and four abreast on main roads, in general creating a
nusaunce of themselves on main roads
You see the same behaviour from motorists, right? I know I do. When's
the last time you stopped *before* the crosswalk in your car? When's
the last time you violated the maximum speed on a road? Ever driven
near .08%? Etc, etc, etc...
I drive a Toyota Pickup truck, usually loaded with ladders and filled with
tools, or a 1965 VW Bus. I drive like your Grandmother 90% of the time. I
drive safely and VERY reasonably. And I always yield to pedestrians in
crosswalks
So far as the driving near .08, ask anyone who knows me the last time they
saw me even REMOTELY drunk (there are several regular posters to the NG who
either know me or have met me) Additionally go read the "Free Paris" thread
to see my feelings about DUI. And when I do get trashed my wife drives.
Always.
that they don't pay use fee for
(registration, drivers liscences, excise taxes etc)
It's a state issue, but in CA, roads are mainly funded through
property taxes. Registration fees/gas taxes are put into the general
fund.
You're an idiot.
What purpose does this serve? I'm better educated than you, have a
better job, make more money, etc.. but it's not important to this
conversation, so I don't bring it up.
Exactly what does income have to do with intelligence? Or how much formal
education someone has? I am a voracious reader of history and pay attention
to current events, build super detailed FLYING models of historical
spacecraft, restored a VW bus from top to bottom, not to mention swaping the
transaxle and rebuilding the reduction boses. I might not have a degree, but
I'll go toe to toe with 90% of the people I know on most subjects and acquit
myself quite well
Nom sequiter
What exactly is a "Nom sequiter" smarty pants?
A typo. Apparently my assessment of your intelligence is correct
