I gave Dylans new one the once through yesterday during a somewhat

ripoff off of "Trouble No More". I found myself singing the Allmans
lyrics along with Bob.

Uh, isn't that a Muddy Waters tune?

Yup...and no doubt a re-working of a traditional.

So - uh OK - now you guys have all stroked your egos and feel all
superior and stuff, maybe we could get back on topic.....

The new Dylan song sounds an awful lot like it, doesn't it? I mean damn
near word for word in places. :-)

That's because it IS the Muddy Waters song. Bob does "When the Levee
Breaks" too, and I am sure that he didn't credit Page and
Plant................

Because, as you of course know, When the Levee Breaks was adapted by
Page/Plant, et al, from a previous blues song by Memphis Minnie...

And, yes, there are several songs on the album that are based on previous
songs... Somedat Baby, Levee Breaks, Workingman's Blues, Rollin' & Tumblin,
When the Deal Goes Down... So what? They are still very good songs...

And yes, there are several lines here, and in L&T that are almost directly
lifted from elsewhere without specific credit given. So what? They are good
songs, and the songs as a whole are uniquely Dylan, even if he "borrows"
heavily from elsewhere...
