I was at RFK Stadium listening and dancing to Jerry in his last pre-coma
show. What a fun show that was. Dylan coming onstage for Baby Blue and
Desolation in the first set, that rippin' Good Lovin' and Satisfaction. It
was also one of the heat-index-wise hottest shows ever: I recall cheering
when the stadium thermometer dropped from 96 to 95 degrees, which probably
matched the humidity. My favorite joke about this show: What were Jerry's
last 2 words from the stage before slipping into a coma? "Bob Weir".
Coincidence ?
A fun little note: I'll be at RFK tonight seeing my Nats play. I'll be
dancing quite a bit less, but the temperature will be much lower (gorgeous
day here). I will be seated right in front of the little Stealie that I've
planted on the back of the seat in front of me though. Memories of Jerry
will be prevalent.
