As any "Intelligent Design" advocate will point out, the Theory of
Evolution is debatable. FTM Quatum Theory is debatable, the Theory of
Relativity is debatable, and FTM so is the Theory of Gravity and every
other scientific theory under the sun and otherwise. Including the
Theory of Global Warming. Nonetheless ALL of the theories listed here
are accepted by the scientific community as, generally speaking, the
best theories that we have to both explain and predict the observable
phenomena that they address, and are thus accepted as the best systems
for scientifically characters.

Ooops - forgot to finish the thought/sentence here, which goes thusly:

characterizing and understanding the physical world.

Instead of focusing
on climate trends which are debatable (yes, they are),
why not just focus on the fact that as society evolves we
should be moving to a pollution free environment?

Hey I've got a similar, and equally useful, idea:

Instead of focusing on, say, finding a cure for cancer, why not just
focus on the fact that as society evolves we should be moving to a
death-free human race? ###

Here's another:

Instead of focussing on the Iraq war which is debatable, why not just
focus on the fact that as society evolves we should be moving to a
violence-free world?

That argument is a nobrainer. Imagine smog-free cities.
Imagine low pollution power generation. Imagine the
possibilities of the future. Now, move towards that goal.

Imagine living for as long as you want to. Imagine no disease.
Imagine the possibilities of the future. Now, move towards that goal.
###

Imagine a world without wars. Imagine skillfull diplomacy instead of
attacking and occupying a two-bit dictator's country and killing
hundreds of thousands of innocent people over mythical WMDs. Imagine a
world with no murder, violent injuries, or even fist fights. Imagine
every girl with a pony. Imagine the possibilities of the future. Now,
move towards that goal.

Sheesh.

"Nearly all climate scientists today believe that much of Earth's
current warming has been caused by increases in the amount of
greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, mostly from the burning of fossil
fuels."
