That's far from a consensus opinion. When I lived in Philly, I
preferred Jim's.
I've had cheesesteaks from both Geno's and Pat's. They're OK, but I
prefer the steak and cheese subs from the shop next door to me.
I had one at a different sub shop in north Philly once. The guy asked
me if I wanted hot peppers on it. That's a no-brainer for me, but when
I got to the table, I found a bunch of bright yellow banana pepper rings
dumped on it. Salty? Yes. Hot? Hardly.
The only thing I've found I really enjoy about Philly is the feeling of
leaving. I also know plenty of Philly natives who feel the same way
about Boston.
