No problem - thanks for the repost.

Because that is the point you are having trouble with...you previously
stated it was a political move on the part of the republicans to
impeach Clinton.

In large measure (though not entirely), yes.

You suggested that the impeachment move was incorrect by the
republicans.

Yes.

Now you seem to suggest that it is OK for
the democrats to do what the republicans did earlier.

Nuance, my boy, nuance.

Again: the offenses are completely different: Clinton dissembled under
oath about a blow job. And that, as I've stated repeatedly, in my mind
does not rise to the level of an impeachable offense, and nor does it
rise to the level that IMO the framers of the Constitution would have
regarded as an impeachable offense.

Bush, OTOH, has by all reports and appearances has directly violated -
in secret, and repeatedly, for years - federal law over an issue that
violates the fundmanental balance of power between Congress and the
Executive Branches, and moreover said violation may well also be in
conflict with 4th Amendment. That sort of violation of the public's
trust and the President's Oath of Office, IMO, is impeachable, and
moreover I beleive that it rise to the level that the framers of the
Constitution would have regarded as impeachable as well.

And because they refuse to do it,

Whoa - it's not "refusal" Unless the Dems retake the House they CAN'T
do it without significant Rebublican support, which they of course
haven't received. To the contrary, the Repubs have been doing
everything they can to bury the issue and keep it from either being
investigated or ruled upon in a court of law.

Then there's Bush's misleading us into war - same deal pretty much
applies there as well.

you take out your anger on the
republicans? It's laughable Ray. Shouldnt your anger be
directed at the party that has leveled the charge?

I'm disgusted, er, amused, with *both* parties here. Why? Because it
is the responsibility of Congress to ensure that the Executive Branch
stays within the law and the Constitution - which it hasn't done here.

That said, and as I've also said repeatedly now, the Dems have made
clear that if they get control of the House come November they will
start federal investigations on this and several other issues.

And again: unless the Dems retake the House they CAN'T do that.

Oh wait...I
forgot liberal rule 1: never criticize your own party.

Oh wait...I forgot coservative rule 1: never actually pay attention to
what they other side is saying - just keep repeating the RNC talking
points ad nauseum. And whatever you do don't point out that the Repubs
control everything.
